MEET OUR TEAM

If we spend one-third of every day at work, shouldn’t it be a fantastic experience? Our founder, Gary Arenson thinks it should, which is why he decided to stop treating the symptoms of workplace-related injuries at his physiotherapist practice and tackle the root of the problem.

Determined to both reduce and prevent these injuries, and thereby transform the way we work, Gary began designing and manufacturing ergonomic furniture and workplace accessories. Today, the dedicated Ergotherapy team comprises likeminded physiotherapists who are ready to help you turn your everyday workday into a fun, enjoyable experience with just the right furniture and accessories.

Gary Arenson

Physio, MD & Founder
Gary Arenson

Shortly after leaving the clinical environment, Gary developed the Ergotherapy Solutions corporate training program to teach working professionals how to improve their workspace. It was while working with blue-chip companies that Gary realised that office chairs were completely inadequate. He then designed and developed the amazing GetOne® and NetOne® ranges of seating. Today, the Ergotherapy brand has transformed many workspaces across the country.

The pain-free, awesome workday you deserve – that’s my guarantee.”

Tracey Palay

Physio & Consultant
Tracey Palay

Tracey Palay graduated from Wits and has worked in many different spheres of physiotherapy. A back injury a few years ago necessitated surgery, and as a result, she developed an interest in products that would help others address back pain and ways to reduce work-related injuries. Tracey is based in Johannesburg and consults with physios and chiropractors, as well as organisations and individuals.

“I have achieved a pain-free work-day by using the right ergonomic products. You can too.”

Lynda Stanton

After 15 years in private practice, with a focus on Sports Recovery Therapy and Avoiding of Injury, Lynda has worked with a number of clients who have injured themselves because of bad posture or extensive sitting. Angela Hendricks

Physio & Sales Manager
Angela Hendricks

With a life-long dream of being a physiotherapist, Angela qualified in 2002 from the University of Cape Town. While working in private practice, she treated many patients who suffered from work-related injuries due to poor ergonomics. This sparked a desire to help people in a different way. Angela joined Ergotherapy Solutions in early 2006 and now manages the Western Cape and Eastern Cape areas.

“By correcting the ergonomics of my patients’ environments, I am now treating the cause, not just the symptoms.“

Caryn Stretton

Physio & Cape Practice Manager
Caryn Stretton

Having run two of her own private practices, Caryn experienced first-hand the importance of advising patients on good ergonomics to holistically treat pain and symptoms. Caryn suffered from her own neural injury and decided to retire from practicing, but wanted to continue to help others so she joined our team. That’s because Caryn knows that with correct ergonomics there is no reason to be uncomfortable at your workstation. Caryn deals with Key Accounts and Practice Management in the Western Cape.

"There's no reason to spend your work day in pain - through correct Ergonomics, good health and a balanced lifestyle, we can all be comfy and excel in our office environment."

Abi Wilson

Physio & Corporate Consultant
Abi Wilson

Abi graduated as a physio in Melbourne and has worked in a private practice and as a sports physio in Australia, Zambia and the UK. Her interest in office ergonomics and the effects of body posture on pain and dysfunction has grown over the years. Trying to ‘fix ’the root cause of many of her patient’s conditions led Abi to become the Zambian Ergotherapy rep in 2013, so that she could provide alternative solutions for them. Abi now works in Joburg with the Ergotherapy team and deals with Joburg corporates and Africa.

“A little knowledge and a great chair goes a long way to making your working day pain free, productive and happy! And everyone deserves that!”
